Cummins Jetcount Troubleshooting Guide

If you are experiencing trouble with your Cummins Jetcount, follow the instructions below to fix particular issues.

Error Message: Chain Detected

Chain Detected means that 2 or more bills went through the scanner too fast. Take out all of the bills from the top and bottom of the Money Counter and press the “Reset” button. Remove remaining bills and try again.

If this error message still keeps occurring, it is probably due to the Thickness Setting being too loose. Follow the steps below to calibrate the Money Counter.

Calibrating: Chain Detected

1. Be sure to take out all of the bills from the top and bottom of the Money Counter and press the “Reset” button, then remove any remaining bills.

2. Look at the “Thickness Adjustment Dial” and note the current setting.

3. Turn the wheel to the right to decrease the thickness setting by one number only.

4. Try running the bills through again to test the new setting.

5. If the test passes more than once, then keep this setting. If you get the error message Chain Detected again, repeat steps 1 through 4.

Error Message: Double Detected

Double Detected means that 2 or more bills went through the scanner on top of each other. Take out all of the bills from the top and bottom of the Money Counter and press the “Reset” button. Remove remaining bills and try again.

If this error message still keeps occurring, it is probably due to the Thickness Setting being too loose. Follow the steps below to calibrate the Money Counter.

Calibrating: Double Detected

If you get the error message “Double Detected” again, repeat steps 1 through 4.

Error Message: Half Note Detected

Half Note Detected means that the scanner has detected a bill that is ripped, torn or of the wrong size. Take out all of the bills from the top and bottom of the Money Counter and press the “Reset” button. Remove remaining bills and try again.

If this error message still keeps occurring and you believe the Money Counter may be the issue, follow the steps below to calibrate the Money Counter.

Calibrating: Half Note Detected

1. Be sure to take out all of the bills from the top and bottom of the Money Counter and press the “Reset” button, then remove any remaining bills.

2. Look at the “Thickness Adjustment Dial” and note the current setting.

3. Turn the wheel to the left to decrease the thickness setting by one number only.

4. Try running the bills through again to test the new setting.

Note: You can set the speed setting to a slower speed for this test if you are concerned about tearing more bills.

If the test passes more than once, then keep this setting. If you get the error message “Half Note Detected” again, repeat steps 1 through 4.

Error Message: Transport Jam

Transport Jam means that a bill or another foreign object has become jammed in the Money Counter. Follow the steps below to clear the jam.

1. Turn off the Money Counter and disconnect the power cable.

Be sure to do this as the Money Counter is capable of automatically starting, and could injure you!

2. Remove the hopper from the top of the unit.

3. Remove the sensor plate by carefully pulling towards you and upwards.

4. Look for the jammed bill or object and see if you can remove it easily. If you can’t remove it easily you can try a few things. See the following image for reference:

You can manually turn the “Feeding Wheel” in either direction to help you remove the jammed object. Move it away from you if the object is closer to the bottom of the Money Counter, and move it towards you if the object is closer to the top of the money counter.

If you still can’t retrieve the jammed object you can also try to lift the left and right “Red Tabs” up and rest them on the “Silver Post”. This creates more space within the scanner. You can now try to manually turn the “Feeding Wheel” again in either direction to remove the object.

5. Once the jammed object has been removed, be sure to put the “Red Tabs” back to their original position.

6. Replace the sensor plate carefully by hooking the back in first and clipping the front down.

7. Replace the hopper to the top of the unit.

8. Reconnect the power cable and turn on the Money Counter.

9. Try running bills through again to test.

If the test passes more than once, then all should be well. If you get the error message “Transport Jam” again, repeat steps 1 through 9 again to find the jam.
