If your computer is not turning on and is either not displaying any lights on the power button, or has a solid or blinking orange light, use the following steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Locate and check the main power cable.

You will find the main power cable at the rear of the computer either towards the top or the bottom. Be sure that it's both connected properly at the computer and the power source, by following the cable to each end.

  2. Check the power source.

If the power cable is connected correctly at both ends, you should check to see if the source of power is good. Usually the computer is connected to an APC unit, but they can also be connected to a surge protector or directly into an outlet. Either way, you can determine if the power source is good by connecting another device temporarily to check for power.

  3. Discharge the Computer.

If the power source is good and the computer is still not turning on, you can try discharging it by following these steps:

    a) Unplug the main power cable from the rear of the Computer.
    b) While the main power cable is unplugged, press the power button on the front of the Computer 2-3 times.
    c) Wait 10-15mins and then reconnect the power cable and try turning the computer on by pressing the power button on the front.
