To gain access to the scan bars please remove the outer cover first and then the center cover.
Removing The Outer Cover: Using both hands place two index fingers on the side release buttons and both thumbs on the outer cover to grasp it, press the two buttons in and pull the cover up until it detaches.Cancel
Removing The Center Cover: Place the right hand thumb and the index finger on the release buttons in the front and place the left hand index finger on the rear release button, press all three buttons and lift the cover at the same time until the cover detaches as shown in the pictures below.
Step one: Locate the Scan bar towers. Front scan bar is on the left and back scan bar is on the right as shown in the picture below.
Step Two: Locate the release thumb latch on each scan towers. Use your thumb to gently pull the release latch up.
Step Three: When it is released gently pull the scan tower down.
Setup Four: Use a wipe swab, alcohol pad or a damped napkin to clean the scan bars using up and down motion. Follow the same procedure for both scan bars.
Step Five: Make sure that there is no paper, paper clip, staple or coin stuck.
Step Six: Push both towers back in until they latch
into their original position.
Step Seven: After cleaning install the center cover first and then the outer cover.
Note: Do not use Magtek check scanner as a cup holder.
